Pass the Care Forward Walk
Sunday, June 25, 2023 at 1:00PM
Join us on Sunday, June 25th as we head out on a walk to remember the special people in our lives who have died. We will begin our walk at the Evergreen office in Markham. We will walk through Milne Park and return to the Evergreen office afterwards for snacks, refreshments and raffle prizes.
Every step taken and every penny raised through this walk will help individuals in Markham, Stouffville and Thornhill get the care and support they need when facing a life-threatening illness, caregiving or grief. These people are facing the toughest of challenges, but with your help we can pass the care forward to those in need and be there to ensure they get the right support.
Death Cafe
Monday, July 24, 2023 at 7:00PM
Join us in a candid and open, virtual, conversation on death and dying. This is open to everyone.
“At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. Our objective is to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives’. A Death Café is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session.” – Deathcafe.com
This is open to Everyone = Volunteers, Staff, Clients, and Community.
Please see Death Café’s website if you would like more information on Death Cafés https://deathcafe.com/
